LATIN-AMERICA IN PERSPECTIVE: SOCIETY, CULTURE AND POLITICS - SERIES

In 2020, FLACSO/Brazil, through the Latin-American College of Global Studies, signed an agreement for a book series with German De Gruyter publishing house. This book series prioritizes Latin-American authors and will build on the concept that specific Latin American perspectives, experiences, theoretical frameworks, and empirical research can reflect the debate about broader global issues in the context of multidimensional and globalized trends. It intends to promote the production and internationalization of the Social and Human Sciences, an interdisciplinary participation, and to contribute to the understanding of different realities from a Latin American standpoint.
In observance of the region’s countries’ diversity of characteristics, the series will focus on the publication of research that contemplates more than one country, in a cross-regional reflection, through a diversified selection of contributors, especially with an interdisciplinary, multi-situated, empirical and comparative approach.
The series will publish books on timely issues, around local and regional societal, political, and judicial topics, concerning issues such as inequalities and social justice. The series will prioritize publications with rigorous empirical research, from which can stem broader theoretical propositions and debates in connection to the contemporary international scientific methodological and theoretical trends and movements.

Em 2020, o Colégio Latino-Americano de Estudos Mundiais/FLACSO - Brasil firmou convênio com a editora alemã De Gruyter para produzir a série editorial Latin American in Perspective: Society, Culture and Politics.
Esta série está baseada no conceito de que perspectivas, experiências, estruturas teóricas e pesquisas empíricas latino-americanas podem contribuir para o debate sobre grandes problemáticas globais.
A série pretende promover a produção e internacionalização das Ciências Sociais e Humanas latino-americanas e oferecer à academia de outros continentes uma perspectiva especialmente latino-americana, produzida na, sobre e a partir da América Latina.
Atendendo à diversidade de características próprias da região, a série terá como foco a publicação de livros que contemplem reflexões teóricas e metodológicas regionais, colaborativas, especialmente de caráter interdisciplinar e com uma abordagem empírica consolidada. Publicará obras com foco em problemáticas sociais contemporâneas de relevância, especialmente relacionadas às desigualdades e à justiça social, considerando perspectivas socioculturais, econômicas, jurídicas, etc.
A série conta com um comitê editorial constituído por colegas de países da América Latina e de outros continentes que será responsável por organizar as chamadas para publicação. Os livros serão publicados em inglês, com selo do Colégio/FLACSO e da editora De Gruyter.
